EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS - Expressions of Interest

Northern Midlands Council is currently investing in a new $3.7 million-dollar Early Learning Centre in the Northern Tasmanian community of Perth to cater for population growth in the area.

The new purpose-built Early Learning Centre will replace our existing facility. Due to open in April 2023, the new centre will cater for 46 long day care places and 40 after school care places.

This will create employment opportunities in a variety of full time, part time, and casual positions and we are seeking expressions of interest from:

1. Full Time and Part Time Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educators who have or will be able to obtain a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Clearance and a First Aid Certificate.

2. Casual Early Childhood Educators who hold a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services and have or will be able to obtain a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Clearance and a First Aid Certificate.

Our dedicated team is committed to providing high quality education and care for all children and our families. All applicants must share that commitment, and bring excellent communication skills, including active listening skills to the role. You must have a sound understanding of the health and safety risks involved in working with children and be able to demonstrate sensitivity, patience and kindness.

This is an opportunity for us to start a conversation about the opportunities available, and all correspondence and discussions will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

Expressions of Interest should be submitted in the form of an email or letter outlining:

• A brief statement about you, your interest in the role, and your experience in similar roles

• Your current educational qualifications in Children’s Services and other related training

• A current Resume

Expressions of interest should be addressed to the People & Culture Business Partner at council@nmc.tas.gov.au or PO Box 156, Longford TAS 7301.
